Visual Arts Exhibition Sun Crumbs provides censor-free, hassle-free exhibition space to emerging visual artists in the effort to create opportunities to share, explore, show, and sell. We partner with galleries and community groups to present dynamic and often controversial exhibitions.
Our themed group exhibitions give artists an opportunity to explore issues and ideas relevant to our community. Past shows have included: "Womb Journeys: Beyond Regret, Shame and Sorrow,", "Loaded: Does Art Make People Kill," and "The Locker: Beauty of the Male Nude."
From time to time, Sun Crumbs offers solo shows to emerging artists of great promise. Artists we have featured in the past have included: Mark Lobach and Jon Margolis. Executive Director and curator, Christiane Leach acts as a mentor for artists showing their work for the first time. She walks the artist through, selection, hanging, promotion and the opening reception.
Our annual "Mommy, I Want Art For Christmas Sale" is a fundraiser for both Sun Crumbs and local artists and craftspeople. Every year, we ask artists to clean out their studios and place accessible prices on old work in order to encourage the public to give original artwork for Christmas. Artists keep a majority of the proceeds for each sale.
