Board
Eric Mason, Chair
Eric Mason is a man engaged in the inquisitive journey through life. One aspect
of his life includes painting houses to earn his bread and butter. He is a graduate
of William & Mary College. He is a keen philosopher, a lover of physics
and science and an avid practitioner of Tai Chi.
Norman D. Nunley Jr., Treasurer
Norman D. Nunley Jr. is one of Ripple
Effects senior software engineers. Specializing in database design, data-mining
and e-commerce in a wide variety of programming languages, he has a great love
of all arts, most especially poetry. In his copious spare time, he plays
computer games, chats on the Internet, writes and attends poetry readings.
Steven J. Owens, Acting Secretary
Steven J. Owens is a software engineer at Moai.com. His work is primarily in
Java, with an emphasis on web-based e-commerce systems, and occasional forays
into Perl. His background is in rhetoric and non-fiction writing. He has an
odd assortment of hobbies and pastimes. He had no idea how much fun art and
poetry could be.
Curtis Reaves, Board Member
Curtis Reaves is a successful independent artist whose primary mediums are
photography and video. His multi-media museum exhibit John & Sarah: A Family's
Journey to freedom is now touring nationally.
Staff
Christiane D. Leach, Executive Director
She has curated many successful and controversial exhibits under the aupsices
of Sun Crumbs.
Christiane Leach performs with Soma Mestizo; a Fourth World Beat Vodoo music
group.
She is also one of the new producers of The Dark Night Cabaret, which is a collaborative
program between City Theatre and the local arts community to facilitate the
development of new work.
She continues to be a member of Women of Vision, women artists of color, and
sporadically shows her visual work when she can find the time to produce.
She has acted in several independent films and is currently finishing a science
fiction screenplay.
As an individual artist, she co-authored a self-published book of poetry and
art, Spinning Standing Still, with artist/poet Eden McNutt. A poetry book of
devotional dialogues inspired by 15th century Sumerian folktale.
She has various projects and collaborations on the horizon.
Christina Springer, Administrative Director
Christina Springer crosses disciplines like busy streets using poetry, theatre, dance, music, film and other visual expressions.
In 1998, she had the privilege of receiving a fellowship in Cave Canem. She was a runner-up in the Jewel Poetry Contest and the Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry Contest. Pittsburgh's Poetry Slam Champion from 1994 until 1998. She has performed poetry in: New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington D.C., Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
Selected publications include: Callaloo, Fireweed, InContext, Crack, FEMSPEC, Forbidden Panda, This Order, Outlet Literary Journal, Mothering Magazine, Shooting Star Review, The Pennsylvania Review, Drumvoices, Amethyst, The New Voice.

Her most recent performance work was "Painbrush," an interdisciplinary work performed during The Painted Phrase at Viaduct Art Gallery. "Painbrush," was a collaboration with photographer Zed Armstrong. Other performance work includes: "Life Rites" at City Theatre, "Licking The Knife's Edge," at City Theatre and the rock-poetry opera "Mary Magdalene & the Apostles" at The Acting Company.
In and around Pittsburgh, she has done two site specific installations, "Aedas de Vita" and "Grace" at Aliquippa Embraces Art. "Life Rites" was staged in a sculptural installation she created. Her installations, "Look Out Whitey," "Padded Walls," "The Tampon Bush," and "Fact of Life" have been exhibited in Ohio.
